We have considered these factors when developing the ultrasonic heat meter KARAT-Compact-223.
Today not the heat meter displaying the information on the front panel, but the information, transmitted from this meter by wireless networks to the cloud services and then to computers, notepads, smartphones etc., is called the modern product.
Over the last 25 years we have been developing the metering instruments, which had obviously changed during this period. The modern metering instrument is presented by the digital IoT-device, which operates in the networks and is connected to the Global network, providing services for the end user, resources suppliers and utilities.
From the one hand, the heat meter KARAT-Compact-223 is a typical apartment-level instrument based on the ultrasonic technology.
From the other hand, it is a new generation meter, designed for use in the digital world. It is a smart meter, which can measure, calculate and store a number of parameters, such as temperature, flow rate, heat energy etc. As compared to the previous-generation meters, it is equipped by radio-interface with the LoRaWAN specification support. It permits the meter to connect to the networks and send data to services anywhere in the world.
The offered LoRaWAN solution provides:
- Controllable communication periodic sequence;
- Controllable amount of transmitted information;
- Controllable communication schedule;
- A large variety of downlink commands (data integrity in case of temporal communication downtime or breakdown);
- Instrument internal time synchronization with the Global time service;
For integration in the digital medium, the meter is given a unique identifier, which contains the information on the manufacturer and serial number. The bar code is placed on the meter front panel and the meter certificate for code reading automation.
Thanks to the universal code, the meter is uniquely identified in the network. Moreover, the ID-code is a key to the AMR system database, which contains the information on the specific metering instrument life cycle events.
Thus, the KARAT-Compact-223 ultrasonic heat meter can be used in the IoT world.
